Steel Shot blasting is the most widely used and highly effective process for meticulously cleaning, stripping, and enhancing metal surfaces. The specific grade or size of the steel shot directly influences the final finish achieved, ensuring precision based on your needs. The perfectly round ball shape of the steel shot generates a pristine, smooth, and polished surface through a unique peening action driven by the rapid acceleration of the shot. In peening applications, steel shot is indispensable for enhancing the compressive strength of critical torque or load-bearing metal components such as crankshafts, engine turbine blades, and robust heavy-duty springs.
Applications:
Smaller-sized steel shot delivers an exceptionally smooth and highly polished finish, while larger shot provides a more aggressive cleaning action, resulting in a rougher surface texture. Both air-powered and wheel blast systems can be utilized to propel the steel shot onto the target surface efficiently. Due to its superior hardness and density, steel shot is remarkably resilient, allowing it to be recycled up to an impressive 3000 times before replacement is necessary. Moreover, since steel shot employs a non-abrasive process, it significantly minimizes dust creation during the blasting operation, contributing to a cleaner and safer working environment.
